Communication Cocacola Company

Question: Discuss about the Communicationfor Cocacola Company. Answer: Introduction When it comes to achieving the goals of any business communication is important. With easy flow of information among the staff the set vision can be achieved with ease. Augment human capabilities are well facilitated through contemporary communication (Barry and Fulmer, p. 273). Just like any other business running a fizzy drink business requires one to embrace contemporary issues related to communication among staff and clients. When one has effective communication skills then their businesses are made to flourish in many ways. It ensures close ties with important stakeholders in the business like suppliers, retailers and consumers. It also provides room for opportunities which influence trends, perceptions and conversations. Effective communication ensures proper decision making and faster problem solving based on reliable information (Wood, p. 22). Use of social media to promote businesses has been embraced by many companies due to the ability to attract a great number of consumer s. Its the way to go for any person venturing into business in this 21st century. How Business Communication has Changed over the Last 20 years The business world has undergone great changes over the last 20 years. Some aspects of doing business have become radically different in todays world although some business practices have remained the same. For example, the way Coca-Cola Company markets its brands to its customers has just taken a new and different life of its own. This shift has resulted from changes in technology and the manner in which money is transacted in business. Changes in doing business have occurred in the following key areas with respect to Coca-Cola Company (Levitt, p. 94). Use of internet; in the last 20 years the widespread use of internet by the public was still in very early stages. In those years corporations were quickly vying to control the online market place. People were still trying to get over the idea behind creation of websites, using emails as well as learning of new ideas (Xiang and Gretzel, p. 179). In the early stages we had companies like face book, Amazon and Google emerging as the main central hubs of the modern commerce in the digital era. From then, social networking and bookmarking search engine optimization and many forms of digital traffic generation have grown tremendously. They have since existed as avenues of increasing volumes of internet based sales. Some affiliate programs such as email lists containing auto responders as well as blogosphere have equally emerged as appropriate ways of reaching out to masses. There have been an increasing number of online business transactions where the internet has realized billions in pro fits. Most business currently operate using company websites unlike the traditional ways of print advertisements (Bruhn, Schoenmueller and Schafer, p. 782). Use of POS System in Retail Businesses In the past 20 years most people had little or no experience with touch screen product access and making payments via mobile systems in the retail businesses. With time there has been the rise of modern Point of Sale (POS) systems which has come with a major optimization of sales volumes by the retailers. POS has made the running of retail businesses more cost effective and efficient by allowing customers to have direct access to onsite products as well as numerous payment options. Tracking and ordering invention has been revolutionized by the automation system which allows for the control of inventory measures. Mobile payment systems have also revolutionized business in the modern world (Munshi and McKie, p. 12). Crypto currencies; the most successful attempts in the revival of using crypto currency since its collapse in 1998, is the reinvention of payments via PayPal systems. The rise of Bit coin from 2008 has increased the online exchange of crypto currencies and these are viable forms of using currency to engage in business transactions in the current world. They are the safest unofficial mediums of money exchange in the less publicized private online markets (Xiang and Gretzel, p. 88). The app revolution; the first Smartphone series were realized in 1996 which was Nokia 9000 communicator. Currently the app driven commerce and Smartphone technology is at the heart of modern business. Some apps display company products while others provide payment methods for goods and services. Shoppers can also be able to do online comparison of products before settling on one. These changes have made consumers to be more savvy shoppers unlike 20 years ago. Challenges that businesses in the 21st century are facing with communication /negative effect of social media on business Marketing shift; this has become a burden since most businesses want to entirely rely on social media to reach their clientele but there is need for personal engagement with customers for one to realize success business success (Mulhern, p. 98). Increased customer power; before inception of social media the negative customer-company experiences could remain within an individual circle of friends but with the onset of social media communication a bad experience by a customer with any company can go viral within the shortest period of time possible on social media risking business losses. Tracking of negative or misleading statements; with social media communication its not easy to track negative statements about their brands (Vignali, p. 99). Accidental release of confidential information; this can be inadvertently done by individuals with inside knowledge of the company which may damage the companys competitive advantage. Before social media a letter that was sent to the wrong recipient could be retrieved and kept under wraps. Habits of unauthorized employees speaking on behalf of the company; this is because its very difficult for employers to monitor its employees social media activities and stop them from speaking on matters concerning the company without any authority (Snowden and Boone, p. 67). How changes in business communication have impacted the way that business is being done now People watch what they say; with changes in business communication business owners have to adapt to different races, cultures and even ones physical appearance. This is because their comments may not only be irrelevant but also plain and ignorant. To get the job done is the most important thing (Hanna, Rohm and Crittenden p. 266). Changes in communication skills; business owners should be prepared to write long mails, make updates on LinkedIn, make tweets, post on face book etc and this is because we are operating in a multimedia world and the message has to be communicated to customers wherever they are. One has to be on cal close to 24/7 and be mobile; out of office thing does not exist any more. One is expected to respond to mails, texts and even calls within minutes of receipt to keep up with the competitive world (Kim and Ko, p. 1482). Increased travel; even with social media communications customers still expect to meet the business owners one on one. This has even become more demanding than in the past with flights this has become easier, safer and cheaper ad in return increased customer base as one is able to meet many customers within short time intervals. Most business owners have become virtual and work from their homes unlike previously where one had to be in an office to have the business running. They have phone systems hosted and applications managed by someone else. Staff uses online collaboration tools to share files and a lot of information (Castronovo and Huang, p. 1). Getting work from different places; unlike 20 years ago when businesses were managed by telemarketers today business owners are getting leads online. Services such as Foursquare are being used by retailers and restaurants to attract new customers. All this is thanks to remote technologies. Less paper works and yet more people; checks are still being cut but not so many, paper invoices are no longer used by many businesses. People are archiving their documents online on platforms such as drop box and currently some businesses are moving to mobile e-signature system (Khang, Ki, and Ye, p. 279). Relying on people from far-flung places; wit the internet one can get help from any qualified people regardless of distance. Access to more data; with computer a lot of data can be stored for future use unlike the old ways of keeping records in files manually. One could have years of customer interaction and gigabytes of scanned documents all stored in one computer and easy to be accessed (Goman, p. 23). Two examples of how this business (Coca-Cola Company) is utilizing these new ways of communicating Coca-Cola as a company has remained among the top when it comes to business ranking and this success is partly attributed to how it has embraced use of current business communication to reach its worldwide customers. Such engagements include; Use of internet; various forms of Coca-Cola adverts have been placed on the internet. For example the brand online advertisement is often undertaken using use of pop-up ads, banners, onsite sponsorship and other online advertisement forms present in thousands of websites along the globe. Some forums and websites have been specifically dedicated to Coca-Cola funs globally and here users share their stories on Coca-Cola refreshment (Cocacola marketing) Advertisement through radio and television; the company spends a considerable amount of finances specifically for this purpose. The TV ads regarding Coca-Cola vary among countries and they are often prepared taking into account the different characteristics of the local culture so as to avoid misunderstandings that arise due to cultural differences this has maximized the positive impact of TV advertisements. Advertisement through the radio lasts for a few minutes but its considered to increase customer loyalty and level of brand awareness Conclusion There has been a huge influence of social media on business operations and marketing in modern world. It also has an impact on how the businesses engage with their target market. This growth is at an astounding rate and therefore its wise for any business looking to survive in this competitive world to work on developing and implementing a sustainable social media strategy so as to take full advantage of the rapidly changing business environment. However social media comes with its own negative impacts on any business such as loss of business data in case there was no backup as well as exposure of confidential information to the public unawares or by malicious employees. Therefore, business owners should embrace these changes with a lot of keenness and be on the lookout for any negative impacts. References Barry, B., Fulmer, I. S. (2004). The Recent News Of The Successful Cloning Of An Adult Sheep-in Essays

The recent news of the successful cloning of an adult sheep-in which the sheep's DNA was inserted into an unfertilized sheep egg to produce a lamb with identical DNA-has generated an outpouring of ethical concerns. These concerns are not about Dolly, the now famous sheep, nor even about the considerable impact cloning may have on the animal breeding industry, but rather about the possibility of cloning humans. For the most part, however, the ethical concerns being raised are exaggerated and misplaced, because they are based on erroneous views about what genes are and what they can do. The danger, therefore, lies not in the power of the technology, but in the misunderstanding of its significance. Producing a clone of a human being would not amount to creating a "carbon copy"-an automaton of the sort familiar from science fiction. It would be more like producing a delayed identical twin. And just as identical twins are two separate people-biologically, psychologically, morally and legally, though not genetically-so a clone is a separate person from his or her non-contemporaneous twin. To think otherwise is to embrace a belief in genetic determinism-the view that genes determine everything about us, and that environmental factors or the random events in human development are utterly insignificant. The overwhelming consensus among geneticists is that genetic determinism is false. As geneticists have come to understand the ways in which genes operate, they have also become aware of the myriad ways in which the environment affects their "expression." The genetic contribution to the simplest physical traits, such as height and hair color, is significantly mediated by environmental factors. And the genetic contribution to the traits we value most deeply, from intelligence to compassion, is conceded by even the most enthusiastic genetic researchers to be limited and indirect. Indeed, we need only appeal to our ordinary experience with identical twins-that they are different people despite their similarities-to appreciate that genetic determinism is false. Furthermore, because of the extra steps involved, cloning will probably always be riskier-that is, less likely to result in a live birth-than in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer. (It took more than 275 attempts before the researchers were able to obtain a successful sheep clone. While cloning methods may improve, we should note that even standard IVF techniques typically have a success rate of less than 20 percent.) So why would anyone go to the trouble of cloning? There are, of course, a few reasons people might go to the trouble, and so it's worth pondering what they think they might accomplish, and what sort of ethical quandaries they might engender. Consider the hypothetical example of the couple who wants to replace a child who has died. The couple doesn't seek to have another child the ordinary way because they feel that cloning would enable them to reproduce, as it were, the lost child. But the unavoidable truth is that they would be producing an entirely different person, a delayed identical twin of that child. Once they understood that, it is unlikely they would persist. But suppose they were to persist? Of course we can't deny that possibility. But a couple so persistent in refusing to acknowledge the genetic facts is not likely to be daunted by ethical considerations or legal restrictions either. If our fear is that there could be many couples with that sort of psychology, then we have a great deal more than cloning to worry about. Another disturbing possibility is the person who wants a clone in order to have acceptable "spare parts" in case he or she needs an organ transplant later in life. But regardless of the reason that someone has a clone produced, the result would nevertheless be a human being with all the rights and protections that accompany that status. It truly would be a disaster if the results of human cloning were seen as less than fully human. But there is certainly no moral justification for and little social danger of that happening; after all, we do not accord lesser status to children who have been created through IVF or embryo transfer. There are other possibilities we could spin out. Suppose a couple wants a "designer child"-a clone of Cindy Crawford or Elizabeth Taylor-because they want a daughter who will grow up to be as attractive as those women. Indeed, suppose someone wants a clone, never mind of whom, simply to enjoy the notoriety of having one. We cannot rule out such cases as impossible. Some people produce children for all sorts of frivolous or contemptible reasons. But we must remember that cloning is not as easy as going to a video store or

Sample Essay on Paradoxes

Sample Essay on ParadoxesThe aim of this article is to share with you a sample essay on paradoxes. Paradoxes are a very common topic in philosophy. However, paradoxes can be found in different situations and there is a great deal of information available on paradoxes. The sample essay I'm going to be discussing is a second year essay. It will follow a previous essay by the same name that was given to me by my professor. You can find the earlier version of this essay here: 'To Legally Get Married'.The purpose of this essay is to demonstrate to students the skills needed to write a well-written essay using this particular topic. I want to make sure that every student gets some exposure to this topic, and hopefully, they will learn something new or improve upon some aspect of their writing. I also want them to understand how to frame an argument before they begin to construct the actual argument.A lot of students hate reading or writing long, wordy essays. I'm hoping that this can spark some interest in them. I know that I enjoyed it, even if it did get a little repetitive in parts. My professor only gives three or four word essays and I feel I could have used a little more time. The example sentence that I used is 'A doctor told me that many patients complained of nausea and vomiting at the end of the procedure, but when I asked why, he didn't know the answer.' I tried to make the example as simple as possible to make it easier for people to follow. In my opinion, one of the worst things a person can do is just use a complex word to make their example sound better. The best way to show someone a complex idea is to show them a concrete example, which is exactly what I did in this example.Once the example sentence is complete, I want to then look at it and identify problems. The problem will tell me what sort of problem I need to work on. This way, I'll be able to write a more effective essay that isn't overly long. Also, the example essay is an example of an essay th at can be written in a variety of styles, such as scholarly, formal, informal, or even bad grammar. The fact that it is lengthy is a good thing because it will help me write a more interesting essay. As I am studying for my first paper on paradoxes, this means that I will have to study and memorize more material. After I finish reading, writing, or rewriting this essay, I would like to do a rewrite of the paragraph about writing a bad essay. In this case, I would need to look at the paragraph and start looking for the signs of a good essay.

Biography Arthur Ashe and Althea Gibson Free Online Research Papers Two African-American tennis players who achieved more then the world expected of them were Arthur Ashe and Althea Gibson. They both picked up a tennis racket at a young age. Ashe and Gibson did not have a glamorous childhood, but they never knew that picking up a tennis racket would change attitudes towards African- Americans playing tennis. Arthur Ashe was born on July 10, 1943, at St. Phillips Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, a hospital for African (Weissberg 29). Ashe first picked up a tennis racket when he was about six years old. This clinched her standing as the best female tennis player in the world. So in 1962, Gibson considered becoming a professional golfer (afoamhistory). She became the first Black woman to enter the Ladies’ Golf Association in 1964 (King 532). On September 28, 2003 at the age of 76, Althea Gibson died in East Orange General Hospital (afoamhistory). These two African-American tennis players achieved more than the world expected of them. Acesite Corporation vs. Nlrc

* Gonzales took several leaves (sick leave, emergency leave, and vacation leave), thereby using up all leaves that he was entitled for the year. * Before the expiration of his 12-day vacation leave, Gonzales filed an application for emergency leave for 10 days commencing on April 30 up to May 13, 1998. The application was not, however, approved. * He received a telegram informing him of the disapproval and asking him to report back for work on April 30, 1998. However Gonzales did not report for work on the said date. * On May 5, 1998, Acesite sent him a final telegram in his provincial address containing in order for Gonzales to report back to work. * Gonzales, who claims to have received the May 5, 1998 telegram only in the afternoon of May 7, 1998, immediately repaired back to Manila on May 8, 1998 only to be â€Å"humiliatingly and ignominiously barred by the guard (a subordinate of [Gonzales]) from entering the premises. * It appears that on May 7, 1998, the issued notice of termination was thru an inter-office memo. * Gonzales thus filed on May 27, 1998 a complaint against Acesite for illegal dismissal with prayer for reinstatement and payment of full backwages, etc. * Acesite claims, Gonzales â€Å"showed no respect for the lawful orders for him to report back to work and repeatedly ignored all telegrams sent to him,† and it merely exercised its legal right to dismiss him under the House Code of Discipline. LA – the c omplaint for lack of merit, its holding that Gonzales was dismissed for just cause and was not denied of due process. * NLRC – reversed that of the Labor Arbiter. * CA – finding that Gonzales was illegally dismissed, affirmed with modification the NLRC decision. Issue: * WON Gonzales was legally dismissed for just cause. Held: * No. there appears to have been no just cause to dismiss Gonzales from employment. As correctly ruled by the Court of Appeals, Gonzales cannot be considered to have willfully disobeyed his employer. Willful disobedience entails the concurrence of at least two (2) requisites: the employee’s assailed conduct has been willful or intentional, the willfulness being characterized by a â€Å"wrongful and perverse attitude;† and the order violated must have been reasonable, lawful, made known to the employee and must pertain to the duties which he had been engaged to discharge. In Gonzales’ case, his assailed conduct has not been shown to have been characterized by a perverse attitude, hence, the first requisite is wanting. His receipt of the telegram disapproving his application for emergency leave starting April 30, 1998 has not been shown. And it cannot be said that he disobeyed the May 5, 1998 telegram since he received it only on May 7, 1998. On the contrary, that he immediately hied back to Manila upon receipt thereof negates a perverse attitude.

The Impact of Social Network in Tourism Thesis

The Impact of Social Network in Tourism - Thesis Example A number of studies have tried to find out how social networking are used by travelers as well as travel companies in this tourism market. Travel agencies are also increasingly realizing the need for promoting their services through social networking sites as membership of various social networking sites are increasing significantly day by day. This study aims at examining the impact of social networking site on tourism. Has employed case study method along with a questionnaire survey to find out how social working is affecting the decision making process regarding traveling. The study has found that social networking sites have become more popular among travelers that official websites of travel agencies and travel agencies have also realized this changing trend and hence promoting their activities through these sites as well along with their own official websites. 2.1 Background of the study: In the age of social networking the Travel and Tourism industry is growing rapidly. There are thousands of traveling operators who have their websites through which one can book his tickets, hotels or plan his holiday anywhere in the world at just a mouse click. These social networking sites not only enable the tourists to get in touch with his or her respective tourist operator but also to communicate with the previous users of those sites. The latter helps the new users to get first hand information about the operator and making a right choice. Previously the travelers had to depend on many tour organizing intermediaries such as the traveling agents for their travel related queries (Akehurst, 2009). But with the growing popularity of internet usage and social networking this trend is changing. The whole pattern of information searching and decision making is much different for the new age travelers. Therefore the Tourism industry has almost completely become internet and social network oriented. As far as the internet use and online dealing is concerned this industry is ranked at the lead by Werthner and Ricci (2004 pp. 103-104). The websites have proved to be quite an effective way to reach the customers because people can access them 24 hours a day and from anywhere in the world (Lin & Huang p. 1205). It is seen that social networking is quite popular, particularly with Free and Independent travelers (FIT) and backpackers. Because these travelers not merely visit different places but like to meet the local people as well as other travelers on their journey. They wish to experience new cultures, foods and activities while touring (Hyde & Lawson pp.16-18). These travelers are not only interested in gathering information about different traveling destination but also sharing them with other people over internet. Thus the medium of blogging has been used extensively by them. They share their traveling stories through blogging on their personal websites, operator’s sites or on any other social networking sites. Within a couple of years blogging has emerged a

Rising Oil Prices Research Proposal Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Rising Oil Prices - Research Proposal Example Fuel prices have risen and affected every nation in the world since the early years of this decade. Nandia Mongia (2008) reports that crude oil prices have increased in the world market from 22 U.S. Dollars up to almost $90 U.S. Dollars per barrel. This affected the prices of petroleum products like diesel, kerosene, propane, and gasoline and hit lower-income households. Figure 1 shows the rising trend of oil products from 2000 up to 2006. Mongia (2008) mentions five (5) reasons for the rising of oil prices: (1) increasing demands for oil in the world market, (2) reduction of buffers, (3) uncertain oil supply, (4) assumption in the global oil market, and (5) lack of investments on exploration and refining. Robert Hirsch et al. (2005) mentions the notion of oil peaking. They note as perceived by geologists, oil is a limited source found under the earth's crust and its production will soon reach its peak or maximum and from there production will decline. They also emphasize that oil peaking is not related with running out of oil but it only describes the maximum production rate of an oil reservoir when half of its oil is recovered. (Hirsh et al. 2005) Oil peaking can be attributed to rising oil prices since the decreasing supply of oil may not meet the required demand so prices will go up in order to decrease the demand. Figure 2 explains the shift of the supply curve (S1 - S2) and the rise of equilibrium price ($1 - $2 ) because of the decrease in oil production. Figure 2 C. Implications of the Rise in Oil Prices Mongia (2008) finds that the macroeconomic effects of the increase in prices of oil are not yet seen. As shown in Figure 3, the inflation brought by the increase in the average price of crude in 2000's was matched by the growth of the world's real GDP although signs of slowdown were seen. For the developing countries in Asia, the effects of inflation hampered GDP growth which has not changed since 2004. (Mongia 2008) Oliver Blanchard and Jordi Gali (2008) prove four (4) reasons for the mild impacts of the recent oil price increase: (1) lack of adverse shocks which happened in the 1970's, (2) lesser share of oil in production, (3) highly flexible labor markets, and (4) enhancements in the monetary policy. Figure 3 (Real GDP Growth, Crude Price 1990 - 2006) On the other hand, the microeconomic effects of the rise in oil prices were experienced by the poor. As stated by Mongia (2008), many developing countries are oil dependent and spend more resources on importing oil. Poor households use petroleum products like kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas, diesel, gasoline, and chemical fertilizers in their daily living. The rise of in the prices of oil will force them to use other sources like biomass or fuel wood and crop remains. These effects will harm some Millennium
